Overview
Acne Scars
At our clinic, we believe that everyone has the right to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. We understand the profound impact that skin texture irregularities can have on self-esteem, and we are committed to providing safe and effective treatments to help our clients achieve the clear and radiant skin they seek.
Skin irregularities, which can result from a variety of skin conditions, often include pigmentation issues and texture changes. Approximately 30% of individuals with moderate to severe breakouts experience textural changes. However, it’s important to recognise that these irregularities can also stem from other conditions and may appear differently from one person to another.
We understand that each person’s skin is unique, which is why we offer tailored treatment plans that address your specific needs and concerns. Our team takes the time to understand your skincare goals, conducting comprehensive assessments to determine the most suitable approach for your skin type and condition.
Understanding Acne Scars
Acne scars come in various forms, including atrophic, hypertrophic, and pigment changes. Atrophic scars present as depressions in the skin, while hypertrophic scars are raised. Pigment changes, such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or erythema, result in discoloured marks on the skin.
Icepick Scars: Among atrophic scars, icepick scars are the most prevalent, making up roughly 70% of cases. These scars are characterised by deep, narrow indentations that resemble small icepick marks.
Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation Scars: This type of irregularity appears as brown marks on the skin, typically after the inflammation and redness from a skin condition have subsided. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can linger for months or even years after the initial issue has resolved.
Post-Inflammatory Erythema Scars: Pink or purple marks on the skin are indicative of post-inflammatory erythema, a condition that occurs following previous breakouts. These marks can persist for an extended period, adding to the distress of those already dealing with skin concerns.
Available Treatments
CO2 laser treatment is an excellent option for improving skin texture. This laser targets the outer layers of damaged skin, creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate collagen production. As the skin heals, new collagen forms, smoothing out textural irregularities and reducing their visibility. With this cutting-edge technology, patients can see significant improvements in skin texture and tone, leading to a more even and rejuvenated complexion.
Another effective treatment option is our 3D Dermaforce microneedling combined with RF technology. This procedure uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing process and boosting collagen production. When paired with RF energy, the treatment penetrates deeper into the skin, enhancing collagen production and improving both texture and tone.
